Spreading Festive Cheer in the Heart of Leicester – The Soar Sound Christmas Road Show 2024
On Saturday 21st December, the city centre came alive with music, dancing and festive spirit as Soar Sound Radio hosted its Christmas Road Show at the iconic Clock Tower in Leicester.
In the final run-up to Christmas, the streets were packed with busy shoppers – and we were thrilled to add an extra sparkle to their day. With live performances, family-friendly entertainment, and a visit from Santa himself, the event brought smiles, laughter, and a real sense of community to one of Leicester’s busiest public spaces.
Santa didn’t arrive empty-handed – he came bearing sweets and good cheer, handing out treats to children (and more than a few grown-ups too!). As the music filled the air, passers-by stopped to enjoy festive tunes and lively performances, while dancers brought energy and rhythm to the streets.
Our pop-up stage was hosted by the Soar Sound team, broadcasting throughout the day as part of our Christmas special. It was a chance to bring the radio to the people – and to showcase the joy and creativity that community media can bring to public life.
The Christmas Road Show is more than just a seasonal event. It’s a celebration of local voices, shared experiences, and the role that radio can play in making connections. Whether you came along for the entertainment or caught the broadcast from home, we’re proud to have brought a little festive warmth to Leicester this December.
